Windows question

Ok when I right click in a folder, and go down to "New", I have the options to add a new briefcase, text, wave, bitmap, or zip file.

Is there anyway to add a program to this list? I want to add the wordpad application to that list.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Carl,
The short answer to your question is no.
In order to merge other responses it would mean opening the core program and doing a rewrite on the possible responses in the program. Since these programs are write protected, making any change is not a maneuver that you want to try.

This can be done, however it is not trivial. Numerous programs that are user installed make these sort of entries. It involves editing the registry, which is not for the feint of heart.

I have never done this and would have to find instructions. If you really want to do this, I suggest do detailed searches at the Microsoft web site and/or on the web using a good search engine.

I also suggest that you back up your registry before attempting to make any changes. If you mess up your registry too much, Windows will not boot properly.
