Unhappy Dell Laptop Keyboard repair

I have a 2 year old Dell Laptop. The Shift Key on the right side fell off. I've tried to put it back on, but no luck. Any idea what to do or site to send me to? Tried calling Dell and they want to charge a tech's time just to ask about it.

Thanks. I'll give it a shot. Looks a lot simpler on diagram than in real life, but maybe that's the point! I'll let you know how it goes! Thanks again.

Whooops........didn't see the laptop part

I have a spare keyboard off a Dell Inspiron 6000 if you want one. Letters are a little worn, but still 100% functional. PM if you are interested.

Spare keyboard off laptop? I'm way too dumb to understand that I guess. I live in the OKC area too so am interested in what you mean. The whole unit comes off the laptop?

I guess that link didn't help?

There are keyboards for laptops. Not sure if that's HotinOKC's talkin' about but it's an actual keyboard. You just plug it into your laptop. I have one for my Dell laptop but hardly ever use it.

What model laptop do you have?

It's fairly easy to replace. Just remove a bunch of small screws underneither, seperate the casing, and the keyboard is screwed in.

Here'e are some brand new. You can also find them on ebay for about $15-20

I had a key pop off a laptop I have. I struggled to put it back on. It works, but was never the same since and it would pop of from time to time.

So I just replaced it.

You might want to get a new one too.

Thanks. Ordered a new keyboard......actually cheaper than getting key replaced and probably will be better off.
