annoying low ink pop up
I have a Canon Pixma MP500. I get a pop up window telling me ink is low in one or more of the cartridges long before they actually run out. How do I turn this off?

BTW, a refill would cost me $43 ... the printer cost $60. A lot of the people I work with just buy new printers & throw away the old ones.
What do you think of THAT David Suzuki/Al Gore?

I occasionally have ink message problems with my Canon Pixma 5200.
When I have a false ink low message I have removed the cartridges and told the printer I have installed new ones.
When you compare the cost of replacement ink cartridges with the cost of a printer you need to keep in mind that the included ink is only a trial size.
They have as little as 1/3 the quantity of ink as a replacement cartridge.
Manufacturers are not dumb............cost per page would be higher replacing a perfectly good printer.
A lot like buying the multi blade motorized razor that comes with one cartridge!
