CDDVDW problem in new Vista computer

I am at wits end trying to fugure out how to get my HP m8330f desktop to make the CDDVDW TSST corp TS-H653N drive work.
I still get the message in device manager:
"Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)"
The PC is new and hitting update only says that I have the most current driver... help! thanks.

They have new firmware for your issue:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...644705&os=2093

Try that and see if it fixes it.

If not try this:

Thumbs up

I finally had a chance to try the registry deletion (lower filters) and it worked! Thanks so much... it's nice to have the drive back again.
