Mouse freezes

My mouse freezes quite a bit I checked my mouse settings and everything seems fine Does anyone have any other suggestions Its a dell computer 2400 running windows xp home edition

Optical or physical? Trackball or moveable?

Wired or wireless?

If there is anything mechanical it could need cleaning.

I want to eventually get an external hard drive and back up everything. and use it as a network source. if I usnderstand correctly that I can. but in the meantime I want to delete some programs I dont use and it is telling me I dont seem to have enough space to procede. is there any way around this? thanksRead More

I have a Compaq Presario 1200XL-118 laptop that has held me in good stead for many years. I would like to change the original CD-ROM drive for a CD-R/RW drive. I don't want to spend much money on this dinosaur and if possible I would like to use the drive in my Philips external drive that I had bought to get R/RW capability on this computer. Beside the fact that this computer still works well (it does need a new battery) I want to keep it because I have a couple of external devices that need the serial interface. Am I just thinking of sending good money after bad?Read More
