will 3 yr od hp printer work with new vista

just bought a new dell comp over the phone. my hp printer s only about 3 yrs old. they tell me with vista windows my printer wont work. i guess im second guessing the salesman. i purshed a new printer because of that . i hope i did right thanks

go to the HP site and see if they have vista drivers for your printer

(I think he was going for a printer sale )

My 7 year old HP printer works with Vista.
Vista come with many years of printer drivers ready to load.

A question for the CHKDSK experts in here

Hi All, This question popped up as a result of another thread I had posted. I've been trying to run CHKDSK on a couple of hard drives but I've been hitting some kind of a block. In a DOS-type screen, at the very beginning, I get the following 2 messages : - F parameter is not specified. - Running CHKDSK in read only mode. It will then tell me that it is running stage 1 of 3 (verifying files), and then stage 2 of 3 (verifying indexes), but it seems to shut down before running stage 3 of 3. I have monitored its progress by using Task Manager (which shows active programs and their level of activity) and it looks like it shuts down right after stage 2. I've been trying to diagnose any bad sectors on the drive(s) and if possible, to fix/quarantine them. I used to be able to do that back in the good old days of 'Scandisk'. If CHKDSK can't do it, is there another program that can? Thanks, MoRead More

This is my 1st time I build a new PC and have the following 2 questions (Case = Antec Pro series P182, PSU = Antec 650W Neopower Blue, Mobo = Asus P5k3 Deluxe WiFi, CPU Intel Core 2 Duo E6850). 1: The case has 2 LED lights for 2 IEDE HD with 2 pins plug for each LED but my Mobo has only 1 connection for these lights. Can I use a "Y" connection if it exists or I should forget about the 2nd LED? 2: The Mobo provides a 4 pin plug for the system warning speaker but there is no such wire included in my Case or Mobo.
