Which Key?
I have a Gateway desktop purchased in 2000. What key opens the CMOS setup/BIOS settings on startup?

My best guess from the Gateway support site
is the "F2" key.
If that doesn't work, look for a message on the screen telling you which key to use.
Lastly, some motherboards used a jumper to enter the BIOS. To check this, find your model number, download the manual from the Gateway site.

I hope this helps!

Other common choices,
delete key
f1
f10,
You also might want to try hitting the escape key when the bios splash screen comes up to reveal the bios info screen which will tell you what key to hit.

Right Key
Thanks for the replies. With your help and some trial and error, it turned out to be F1. Thanks again.
