Converting pic slides to digital pic??

What is the easiest way to convert slides to pictures? I have an HP scanjet 2400 scanner but don't think that will do it. I have a large number of slides that I would like to be able to save to my computer. I would also like to do it the least expensive way. Thanks for you help.

Did some quick surfing and looks like commercial conversion is around $.40/slide. Also came across this little gadget:

I use a Epson V100 Photo Scanner.
Strip 35mm film, slides, b & w photos, etc.
Results are fantastic as is included software.About $100
Also, standard scans on this machine are 200% sharper than my H-P.

Dell Demension 2400 Power problem

I have a Dell Dimension 2400 and the problem that I am having is after the computer sits for a few minutes instead of going to screen saver like it has for the last couple years, the monitor goes black and as soon as I move the mouse it comes back up but kind of sluggish at first. It is almost like it is in standby but I have checked settings. Also the green power light it real dim and you can see it blink sometimes but other times it is completely out. Hello, I've noticed that KVMs come in many varieties, so perhaps what I'll describe will be referred to as a KVM. Anyway... I am purchasing a new Mac Mini that I would like to put it with my entertainment center. Ideal, I will connect the audio out to my stereo and a video out to my HDTV. The Mac Mini's remote makes it ideal for this. I have a wireless keyboard/mouse, so I can web-surf from the couch :). Additionally, however, we often need to do "serious" computer work (and don't want to take up the TV). I already have another monitor that I would like to setup at a desk, but I would like it to use the same cpu. Do they make a device that would split the one DVI output of the mac giving me one local dvi signal for my hdtv and the other to go to my monitor? Ideal, as the desk monitor is 50 ft away, the remote video signal would be transmitted via wired (or wireless?) LAN - Cat5 cable. Thanks, GuyRead More
