Reinstall in laptop the same as reinstall in desk computer

Is it just as easy to clean reinstall a laptop computer as it is a big desk model?
I ask because I did an old P2 laptop and the thing was a nightmare so I had to take it to a friend of mine.
We dont see much of each other anymore
Anyway...
I can do desk models so I should be able to do laptops.
Am I right??

Is there a difference ?

Yes, it's the exact same process. The thing you probably had problems with last time was getting drivers installed after you loaded windows. If you have a driver disc that came with the laptop, use those for initial driver installs, then update them off the manufacturers website. Or you can download the new drivers and use them first.

Thanks
That is what I thought
I think the other had a problem because it had the CD ROM that slid out and the floppy slid in. And it read them both as D drive...???? Or.....Er...
Never mind---That laptop is a doorstop now.
I will give this one a try
Thanks for the reply
