Youtube videos

I am trying to download a video off youtube to bring to work on a flash drive to show some guys at work. I tried a program called orbit downloader and it didn't work for me. It saved the file as a flash file.

From what I can tell, the files are flash files. You might try Real Player to play it for your friend.

If your using Internet Explorer, watch the Youtube clip then do the following:

Click into the properties of Internet Explorer.

Under the Temporary Internet Files, click the settings button.

Click the View Files... button

Scroll thru untill you see a file called "get_video....".

Right click on the file name, Copy, then paste somewhere
on a drive or your desktop.

From there, rename the file with the extension, ".flv".

You will then have to convert it to a format of your choice
in order to view it.

--------------------------------------------------------

For the Mac, open up Safari watch your youtube video and do the following:

Click on Window and select Activity. There you should see the another window popup.

Scroll thru and find "http://xx.xxx.xx.xx/get_video...".
The status size will be larger than any other temp files.

Double click on the "get_video..." and it will download it to your Mac with a label "get_video".

Rename it with the extension .flv.

You can now view it with VLC or convert it to another format using a program like Visual Hub.

Windows Media Player will play files *.flv, if you ignore the error message when you open the file.

I have had success in copying video on YouTube by using a free program named TubeSucker which I had downloaded from Download.com.
