Keyboard.problems.:why_this:
Will.not.work:......spacebar,...backspace,...enter...(exception:..."enter".that.is.with.number.keypad)...
That.is.the.reason.for.the.dots.between.words!
I.have.cleaned.keyboard,including.removing.and.
cleaning.items.mentioned.above....This.keyboard.is.
to.my.desktop.PC....I.do.not.want.to.buy.a.new.
keyboard.if.I.can.fix.this.one.

First jiggle the cable between the 'board and CPU case, and make sure it's comfortably inserted in the socket.
If that doesn't help, tap the keyboard by its corner on the desk. Don't laugh ... this will dislodge any foreign matter (potato chips, cigarette ashes, spilled coffee's and Coke's) from the keyboard's contacts.
If that doesn't work, take the keyboard apart and run it through the dishwasher. I am not kidding. Turn off the high heat and air-dry cycles and let it air dry on a rack in the sink.
If that doesn't work, go to the local big-box store and buy a new keyboard for under $20.

Banned. Rule And/Or Policy Violation
Too cheap to replace considering the headaches they can cause. I found one of the Microsoft ergonomic ones the other day at a thrift shop for $2. Works great, once you get used to slanting your wrists.

Keyboard won't work.
Do you have a friend that will loan you one just to try out? That way you'll know for sure where the problem is. Like a previous poster said you can pickup a cheap used one. I'd suggest eBay if you can't borrow one. Of course, that may be difficult without a working keyboard to begin with -Bob
I just happened to think. I have a couple of working used ones that aren't worth anything. I'll be glad to send you one for the cost of postage if you'd like.
