shredders...
I have a question about shredders, sorry I don't know if this post goes in this part of the forum.
The oil to lubricate the heads, teeth, what kind of oil is best for that? Would chain saw oil or cooking oil be good enough and where exactly do you put the oil?
The oil they sell at staples business depot or other stores it is really worth to buy for $10 or are they just making money from that? Thanks!

well it accepts less paper and they recommend to use the oil that is supplied in the store. Of course to make money I think?

For lubricating the cutters, the factory supplied oil is simply squirted in a diagonal across a sheet of paper, then run through the machine. I usually cannot find my factory supplied lubricant, so I spray a diagonal of Pam on a sheet of paper, then run it through the shredder. Works great, less fattening.
Hope this helps.

A tip about using oil on shredders!
Less is better; and, be careful about getting too much on the safety sensors.
Some of the cheaper shredders have sensors that are difficult to access for cleaning, and too much oil will foul them and cause the motor to shut down.
One drop goes a long way!
