2nd monitor

Hi folks,
I just hooked a second mon up to my pc. After I hooked it up I went to the display properties, checked the drag my desktop option and apply. My question is ..did I do something wrong because yes I can drag stuff to the second monitor but the size is too big and the colour is all off. Shouldnt the size adjust when you drag it over or is this the way it should be. The second monitor shows nothing on it but a blue screen ...is this the way it should be???

You need to set the resolution on the second monitor. Go back into the display properties. Click on monitor number 2 and slide the resolution slider to what the native resolution of the monitor is. If it's a 17inch lcd, then probably 1280x1024, 15" lcd 1024x768, etc etc.

files from one computer to another

long story short, 40gig hd drive from old broken computer into another crappy one as slave. wife wants pictures from it. what i need to know is how can i get said files over into our new new computer? not too great on computers but want to try. do i connect wires from one to another so they share files?

Factory State Could Rescue a Corrupted Word/Registry?

Hi: Since early in February, Word 2000 does not respond at all. For this I attempted to rescue/cure the issue numerous times, however it's still the same, .... 'Not Responding' error message, hence I am NOT able to access Word 2000. Wonder if I would bring the PC with Vista to the Factory State by re-installing Vista using 'restored disks/HP,' the Word 2000 could be rescued to its original state? BTW, the other IDs in the same PC have NO issue at all. They both are able to access the Word 2000 right after clicking icon of Word 2000 on he desktop. Only mine, Adminstrator has this issue, above, not able to access Word 2000. Also, recalling back, ... the issue, above started after Linsky Wireless Adaptor failed to connect my ISP. As seeing this, I suspect 'Registry' for Word 2000 got lost, thus not function it at all. Thanks for any help. :confused:
