Cannot receive Yahoo Mail at work

I was able to access my Yahoo email at work the other day but now I can't. I get the message that the access is denied because of instant messaging and P2P file sharing.

Is there a way I can remove the instant messaging and P2P from my Yahoo mail so I can get my mail at work? I never use instant messaging and don't have a clue about sharing files. I can probably access my mail from home or public library.

Thanks

Talk to your IT people. They are the ones that have the power to deny.

We have the same thing here at work. We can not access any external email. Is an anti virus policy thing. You are going to have to take it up with your IT people who control internet access.

I'm retired now but the company I worked for allowed the employees to use company computers for personal use within reason during employees' break periods. They did NOT allow unlimited Internet cruising and specifically did not allow any porn.

I agree with mango. People shouldn't be using their work computers for personal use. It hogs bandwidth, higher risk for viruses and malicious content and is not productive.

If you try and backdoor the IT departments policies, you are at risk for termination.
