Thumbs down Use 19v power adapter instead of 16V power adapter

Hi.....

I purchaed a used laptop with no power adapter. The power adapter this laptop uses is a 16V 3.75A 60W rating. My question to anyone that knows computers more than I is; Can I use a 19v 3.16A rated power adapter to charge the battery without damaging the computer battery or the computer itself???????

THanks for your input.

It's never a good idea to substitute power supplies. They can cause instant damage -- and long-term damage. Why take a chance on blowing up your new computer the second you plug it in?

Used power supplies are cheap. It's easy to search what kind the notebook originally came with and buy one.
