How do I find the startup menu?

My kids have loaded some programs to start automatically when they log on to the computer. It's slowing the pc down. I want to take them out of the startup process, but I don't know where to go to find it.

Any help is appreciated.

Click Start, Run, type MSCONFIG, go to the start up tab and uncheck anything you don't want to start with the computer. Restart the computer. When the dialogue box opens, select the box to not be notified again of this change.

Hope this helps.

Go to "Run" and type "msconfig" then click on the Startup tab.

In Vista-go Start-All programs-Startup
If programs are not there--go Start-- Accessories-Run-in Run
type msconfig-click continue-open startup tab--uncheck
program you do not want to run--click apply--click restart
PC--Program will not start when you restart PC..............
