laptop power

Hello
Is it safe to unplug the laptop from the back while it is on to use it battery powered elswhere? The same question applies to plugging the bak in while it is on. I think the term is on the fly, but that could be wrong.
Thank you

yes.
I just wouldn't be in the middle of the computer calculating your taxes or anything but it should cause no problems.

laptop

It is better to be safe than sorry so I thank you for the assurance. It isn't a habit but there are times I would prefer the shortcut rather than shutting down, unplugging then powering up again.

I unplug and plug back in all the time without shutting down. I do follow the suggestion of plugging into the wall first and then plugging into the computer second. If there is going to be a shock it will be with the power cord going into the wall.

Good advice, Melissa. There is always a surge when you plug the power supply into the wall, so it's best to power it before you plug it into the computer.
