Laptop, No Power

My computer turned off, like when the power is gone nothing on, no lights or fans, won't budge, tried different wall outlets, the external power supply is on. Any suggestions?
Thanks

Your motherboard needs to be replaced.

Or you have a bad cord, or a bad P/S, or as stated, a M/B. Does it work on batteries..does it do anything? Not much info....

Also try pulling the battery out and then plugging the laptop into the wall and see what happens.

To test the power supply, use a voltmeter and test the lead that goes into the laptop, see if you are getting the specified voltage. If you are then it's probably the motherboard.

To be honest, I'm not exactly sure why that can cause a problem, but I've seen it before. Pull the dead battery out and the laptop works fine, stick it back in and nothing.

Do you have a Dell?..........just curious because the very same thing happened to mine last week.........now I'm shopping for a new motherboard.
There is also some rumors that the power recepticle may be able to be repaired.
If it is a Dell , what kind?............
