low signal strenght

I have a D-link rangeooster g USB 2.0 adapter attached to my dell pc. best signal strength i can get is 2 bars on the indicator. If i put my lap top on in the same area as the pc i consistently get 4 -5 signal strength bars. any suggestions as to how to improve the strenght to my pc!

I've noticed that drivers make all the difference in the world. See if there is an updated driver for that adapter.

Unless you are having connection problems, I would not worry about it.

Basically anything physically between the two antennas will/can cause signal degradation.

Another big item that causes interference is other "waves". Microwaves, cordless phones, cell phones, radios, or anything else that receives/sends a radio signal.

I also find that USB Dongles don't have that great of reception. Again if you aren't having any connectivity issues don't worry about it.

WiFi Antennas-Super Cantenna Wireless Booster Antenna

I use that with a Hawkings adapter for long distance.

If it's radiation you're thinking about, your cable box is far worse, second only to an electric blanket.
