USB Switch & On/Off?
I have a Sans Digital 4-Bay TowerRaid hard drive enclosure that has auto-shutdown when the power to the USB connection is turned off. I would like to use this on a switcher so I can have it connected to both my computer and my media player (Popcorn Hour A-110) and not have to plug and unplug cables. This way I can copy files from my computer to the hd's, then switch and play the files from the hd's on the media player. Then when I power off the media player the tower bay will shut down also.
However, the tower bay doesn't shut down when I have it connected to my current switch. It will only shut down when directly connected to the media player. Is there a switch that would work for this? So when I have the switch set to the media player and shut down the media player, the tower bay will also shut down?
Thanks much,
Harold

What switch are you currently using? I've never used such a product, but I quick google search shows some options you may wish to explore:
Mini 2-Port USB 2.0 A / B Manual Switch share usb devices with two computers
Amazon.com: IOGEAR USB 2.0 Peripherals Sharing Switch (GUB201): Electronics
Or if you want to DIY:
