remove network card?

I have an unused Belkin PCI network card installed in my desktop XP pc. I don't want to see it listed at all under the Network Adapter listing in Device Manager. I understand that I can easily disable it, and have done that by right clicking on the drop down list and selecting Disable. I have also selected Uninstall but of course every time the pc is booted up again it finds the device and it reappears listed within the Network Connections again.
Is there any way short of actually physically removing the card from the pc to actually uninstall the card "for good" and prevent it from showing up in Device Manager and Network Connections again?
