Dell Dimension 4500S......blurry monitor?
picked up a Dell 1.8G and noticed the screen was slighty blurry.the words/home page were not as sharp as other monitors i hooked up to check the tower connection for the screen.i adjusted the resolution,contrast,brightness but it stayedthe same blurry state.monitor was built in 2002....thanks for any tips.

Try doing the auto adjust feature on the monitor. Use the monitor buttons and menu to accomplish that. You could also try resetting the monitor to factory defaults. If that doesn't do it, it's probably trash, considering you've hooked up other monitors that worked fine.

thanks.......i'll try that resetting of the Dell monitor.even the Dell monitor on my Gateway tower has that same blurry viewing with the Gateway monitor crystal clear and sharp.

7 y/o CRT? Do you know where it came from? If it was used in an office or similar..it was prob turned up pretty bright and left on much longer than the average. Prob toast.

it was in house and brand new back then in 2003..maybe just always left on.thanks.thought for a minute it had like the APPLES that mylar plastic layer on the screen it was blurry also.took it apart nothing just glass.when i did the apple i pealed the mylar off and it was crystal clear.
