games

Hello been here before. Just messing around the other day and I notices some of my games were gone. (Solitare, Freecell, etc) The internet games were there.(Checkers, Backgammon, etc) Anyway I put in the disk and punched up add/remove windows components and checked them all off. It ABSOLUTELY REFUSES to download these. I uncheck everything and sure enough "games" is empty. If I check internet games they go ahead and load. If I UNCHECK internet games and check all the others (solitare, freecell, minesweeper) nothing... "games" is empty. It simply refuses. Any ideas?... what gives? I know they were there before because I played them although not very often
FYI: Windows XP Home

Go to Start, Then control panel. Click on Add Remove Programs. There click on the Add or Remove Windows components on the left panel. Then click Accessoris and Utilities in the next window and click details at the bottom, after you make sure the box is checked beside accessorie and utilities. Then click Games and click details at the bottom. Check here to see if all the games have a check mark by them. I am guessing they do not.
If everything is checked then I have no further help. Sorry.

yep I did all that. I had them all checked. Only ones that were loaded were the "internet games". I unchecked "internet games" and checked the others (solitaire, backgammon, etc) and clicked next. It went through the motion of doing it and said the job was complete but when I go to start - programs - games. It is EMPTY. I dunno

Have your tried "removing" them (a bit odd, since they aren't actually there) by unchecking the box, and then adding them back in?

No I haven't done that yet but here is a little tidbit...When I hit Start...All Programs. The "Games" folder is highlighted in yellow as is the games in the folder. By in the folder I mean the INTERNET games e.g. checkers, hearts, reversi. It is the other games that just wont appear... solitaire, minsweeper, freecell. etc.
