Problem added computer to existing wireless network.

I just added a computer to an existing wireless network in my home. The computer says it is connected to the network, but the signal strength is low. However, I am unable to connect to the internet from the new computer. I thought this might be due to the low signal strength, but I thought it was odd that it is strong enough for me to access the router set-up page via 192.168.1.1. Also, I have my iPhone 3G connected to the network and I am able to connect to the internet with the iPhone even when I am standing next to the new computer.

Is there a way for me to check if my problem connecting to the internet is merely a result of a poor signal strength, or from other issues?

Thanks,
Guy

Are you getting a comment regarding the limited connectivity of the connection? Is the router protected via WEP or WPA security codes? Are the codes entered on the new computer? Just fishin'.

Just says IE cannot open the webpage. Router is WEP protected. I ran the Wireless Network Setup Wizard under control panel. I put in the password in and it said I successfully connected to the network.

The little icon at the bottom right shows that status is connected and the signal strength is good--I moved the computer closer to the router to improve signal strength, but still can't connect.

One thing with using a router, remember it is a firewall. So you are not seeing anything past the router, such as your modem. It can show that the router is working just fine, but if the modem is not connected properly it may not be working. Reboot your modem and see if that helps. I know you probably already have, but it's a shot.
