My BENQ flat screen monitor has no display. The power indicator LED lights up. When you first turn it on there is a quick flash of what looks like some tiny words or numbers on the center of the screen, and that is all you get. Are these repairable or throw away age stuff? The warranty is done.

Have you tried another monitor just to be sure the Benq is really dead? It could be your video card or settings. Since you do see something on the screen I'd try that first, or try the Benq on another computer.
In some cases you may have changed your display settings to a combination that the monitor can't display, either to high a resolution or frequency.
If you are positive it is dead, most electronics nowadays are throw away. By the time you find someone to take a look at it, include the shipping and handling, never mind the cost of the repair, you're already in the hole.
Hope it helps.
