Mouse

How do I silence the buzzing sound produced when I do a select function with my mouse? It is driving me nuts!(more than I am already) I am using a wireless mouse.

As a matter of fact, the mouse buzzes anytime I move it!

Ken, what buzzes, the mouse or the computer? I suppose it only does it when you use the mouse, and not the pad buttons. Have you changed the battery lately?

Mouse

Larry,
As near as I can tell the sound is coming from the speakers. No, I have not changed the battery. What do you think it could be? It seems like I should be able to turn the volume off for this sound, but I cannot figure out how to do it. Thanks.

The sound occurs when I move the mouse.

A combination Fn + whichever "F" key controls the speakers would silence all sound. You may try uninstalling and reinstalling your sound card drivers, not sure. Battery may help. That's weird.

There is always a bit of chatter that bleeds into the audio on most built-in cards. Turning the audio down or off should correct this annoyance. It should never be louder than any music that's playing, however. In fact, on most machines the audio has to be all the way up just to hear it. Is the computer connected to some loud external speakers or a home stereo?

Speakers

I am using small, desktop speakers which were included with the desktop computer when the computer was purchased new from Gateway. There are no other external speakers connected.

I have been experimenting with the volume controls and I think I have hit a happy medium I can live with. My grandson may have changed some settings when he was here this past week-end. Thanks to all who helped solve this problem.
