Usb memory stick question.

I transfer frequently with my usb stick and my real world transfer speed is about 10mbs.Iam using vista. My question is that i have an esata port on the back of my computer. Is there any adapter out there that you can plug your usb stick in and go to the esata port. Not sure if this would be faster because you can only go as fast as the stick will let you. Also i realize that esata ports aren't powered. Thanks.

You will need power for the thumb drive and I don't think you will achieve any faster speeds. They are designed for USB, so circumventing it may not be productive. I back up my company daily on one (among 3 other modes) and keep it with me. At least it is a convenient "off site" storage media.
