Using 32inch tv as second monitor

I just bought a new dvd recorder for my home theater. I have an s-video cable hooked to my Nvidia GeForce4 MX 4000 on my pc that runs to my dvd recorder. However I am having trouble hooking up the cable from the pc to the dvd recorder. I have perfect audio but no video. If someone can help me on this it would be greatly appreciated as I am stuck and have tried everything I can think of. I hope that I explained this well enough to understand. If not please let me know and I can do my best to clarify. Thank you to anyone that can help me out.

The S-video port on your video card is output only, not input.
