Slow start up

I'm using Internet Explorer and start up is painfully slow.
I have deleted temp files and history. Ran virus scan twice.
Done disk cleanup and defrag.

Sometimes it starts up o.k.,but other times it just hangs up. Control delete gets me back.

My wife uses this computer also on her own account. I don't know if she does any of the basic maintenance operations.

Appreciate any help here

Thanks

You may try dumping the cache, or switching to Firefox. Not nearly the problems associated with IE. Plus it is a little cleaner to use, making it (IMO) faster.
Download Adblock Plus which is associated with it and you don't have to deal with all the advertisements, either.
