pic program won't run on windows 7?

I have a picture editing program that I have used for years for simple cropping and resizing and I wanted to load it on to my new laptop but the program is apparently not compatible with win7. Does anybody have any suggestions for pic editing software that is inexpensive that they would recommend. I only use it from time time and I don't do much more than cropping and maybe some resizing.

thanks

Irfanview is very good and free. If you really want to exercise your mind there is Gimp. Almost or maybe as good as Photoshop but free.

Picasa 3 and/or Paint.net are both free and will do what you need. Paint is also a fairly decent photo editor.

Doesn't W7 come with an editor already built-in that can do basic cropping and resizing? Or is that only on the more expensive versions?

Only Paint, as far as I can see.

Shadeladie I agree. I have Windows 7 Ultimate, and it doesn't have a built in photo editor, other than MS Paint.

It was in Vista, looks like it doesn't come with W7 but you can download it for free:
link to a thing that looks the same
