Software after crash/reinstall question

Hey guys.

The other day my computer got one of the Antivirus2010 viruses, and it wrecked havock on my c:drive. When I restarted the computer, it couldn't find the hdd, so I had to install everything on it again.
But most of my programs reside in my d:drive, and when I try to start them up, obviously, they don't work because of the drivers and whatever they put installed in the c: drive.
However, since most of the programs actually start up and say they're missing files, I'm wondering how I should go about deleting these programs so I can reinstall them again.

Since they seem to be installed already, but not showing up on the add/remove programs list, is it "safe" just to delete the folders of the programs, or will that leave junk behind? Some programs doesn't have an uninstall icon.
I'm wondering when I'll reinstall some of them, they might see the old files and install over them or something; I just want to be sure if there's a way to delete/uninstall them since I can't find an uninstall icon.

Edit: I'm using winXP.

C Drive

You need to format C:\ drive and then install Windows and your other programs. Formatting removes everything.

open windows explorer, c:\ program files, find the perticular program file that you want to uninstall, open it and most times there will be an uninstall app.

Good Luck and have a great day

dll and registry entries

deleting them will not remove registry entries, or system dll they install

download ccleaner
run
it can prescan the registry and do a manually de-install of programs
