Internet Explorer Won't Pull up Homepage

When I attempt to pull up my regular homepage, all I get is (about:blank). After pulling up desired homepage, I go to Tools, Internet Options, Use Current Page, Allow, OK.....still once I go back to Desk Top, and then attempt to pull up browser with desired homepage all I get is (about:blank)

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

Don

Is this the only webpage that's doing this? Sometimes it's just that the link needs to be re-bookmarked. If I'm understanding, you have the icon on your desktop. Try making a new icon and deleting the one you have now.

ETA, if this just started recently, could be a temporary problem with that website, too.

You didn't post what vers of IE your running but in IE8 to to tools>internet options and then the general tab (which is the first one) and make sure your homepage address is listed in the home page box.

I am either using IE 7. When I click on my IE icon on my desktop, normally I get the MSN homepage, now all that comes up is a blank screen with (about:blank) in the address bar. If I manually type in the MSN URL, it will come up, but after that if I browse around and decide to hit the home symbol it takes me back to the blank page with (about:blank) in the address bar. When I go to Tools>Internet Options, the homepage box has (about:blank) in it also. Then when I attempt to change it by either typing the MSN URL into the box or choosing the (use current) option while on the MSN homepage, it still goes to (about:blank)

Have you recently added any security software? Some programs will protect the home page settings, this may be whats preventing you from changing it.

Try rebooting (restart) your machine, opening IE and changing the about:blank entry. That is why it keeps doing that. You need to change that to your home page address.

Last resort: update to IE 8

I have not changed any security settings or added anything new to my computer.

I have restarted it, and I have changed the about:blank entry. I have pulled up the home page box in my tools>internet options>general, then put in the correct URL, pressed apply then OK, and it still comes up about:blank. I have also tried clicking on use current, while on the MSN page, which also puts the correct URL in the home page box and click apply then OK, and still am going to a blank screen with about:blank.
