Microsoft I.E.8 question

Is there a way to totally get Microsoft I.E. 8 out of my laptop? I do not use it anymore and would like to clear the space since it gets so many errors such as losing internet connection which I have not come across in google chrome or Mozilla firefox. Thank you for any input. Unfortunately it isn't in add or remove programs.

Have a good one!!

When you open Add/Remove programs, click on the icon on the left that says add/remove windows components. In that screen you will see a list of programs you can remove. I say "remove", it may only disable it from view. I doubt Microsoft will allow the complete removal of a component they made for the OS.

You can't remove it because it's part of the OS. If you're getting internet connection errors and aren't using IE, then it's something else, not IE.

I only had the connection errors with I.E. Not to mention firefox and chrome are faster. It seems like I am getting more I.E. updates than emails I actually bother to open. TY for the advice Chandler. I was able to turn off I.E.
