LinkSys router question

I have a Linksys WRT54G wireless router which is connected to my WildBlue satellite internet. I have a laptop which uses the wireless and my desktop that is hardwired to the router. When either my wife or i are on the computers separately the internet speeds are fine, but when we are on the internet together the speed gets almost unbearable, like worse than dial-up speed. I've had the service techs with WildBlue flat out move my dish (put a new roof on the house anyway) to a different location to try and help and its still the same.

Is this just the way it is with satellite internet or would a different router help?
Thanks

I'm not familiar with satellite internet, but I doubt it is the router. I have the same router with a desktop hardwired and several wireless devices on a DSL connection. I have never noticed any slowdown when multiple devices are on the internet.

The amount of slowdown will vary based on how much bandwidth each computer is using.

You can go to Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test to test how fast your connection is.
