wifi router

I currently use a DLink DI-524. I have had it for years and it seems to work fine. The other day my mother gave me her Linksys WRT54G. Is this a better router? Would I gain anything by installing and using this instead? I understand they are both a G router. I can either use it or sell it.

If you're a basic user i.e. you just use the router how it is, you connect to it and surf the net then, the D-Link will do just fine.

wrt54g is a classic router. it can be modified 6 ways from sunday to accomplish network tasks that most $500+ routers can't. It's simply amazing. but, if you're comparing it's ability to supply internet access to a couple of laptops to that of the D-Link, no difference.

It's not worth much though. I suggest you hang on to it as a backup.
