Ethernet for hp dv6000

I have a hp dv6000 that i have recently formatted. I donot have a recovery disc and therefore i have had to look for drivers. I have downloaded most from hp. The only driver i cannot find is the ethernet driver for xp. I have tried google and found many people searching for the same thing without any luck. I am looking for someone who might have the driver on a recovery disc or possibly can copy it from their computer. Any help will be appreciated.

You can buy a cheap Ethernet PCI card for around $15. Simpler then trying to find a driver. Heck, I have 2 or 3 in my junk cabinet and that is my answer to stubborn onboard Ethernet problems. Or is this a laptop?

Does this link help? Use the drop-downs, then scroll to Driver - Network. Drivers

It is a laptop, also the site for hp drivers does not have an ethernet driver, just wireless.

hey dsawyer does the wireless driver handle wireless and also wired? Something tells me they also handle wired and will revert to wireless if no wired connection exists. If not just ignore this and.....never mind!lol

OK, I think my last post was quite nutty! New idea. I think if your laptop has the jack for the ethernet wire, you probably should not need to download a network driver. One should be bundled with XP (maybe?-LOL).

(Ok, You can ignore this one too!LOL)

That sheds the light on that! dsawyer did not say ( I don't think) that he ever tried the ethernet interface.

Ethernet for hp pv6000

Thank to Lawrosa for the help. The ethernet driver was with the chipset. Works like a charm. DSawyer
