video editing project

Hello,

I have a project assignment in which I need to accomplish the following:

1.) Download/rip a movie file from the internet (youtube, etc.)

2.) Format this movie file for editing

3.) Edit the video on the movie with people faces

4.) Edit the audio with own commentary

I have no idea where to start?

Thanks,

Joey

No, just for entertainment at work. Not going to stress too much about it.

Thanks,

Joey

1.) Download/rip a movie file from the internet (youtube, etc.)
Disclaimer: It is illegal to download copyrighted material and use it for any purpose than to watch it at home. The "Fair Use" copyright exclusion does not cover re-editing for any purpose, including business use.

That said, every video you watch is downloaded to your local hard drive. It's already there, so you don't have to "rip" anything.

2.) Format this movie file for editing
Most video editing apps will open and allow you to edit just about any file format there is, so you don't have to re-format.

3.) Edit the video on the movie with people faces
If you are talking about replacing existing faces in a movie with your own pictures, it is a long, cumbersome process to get it to look seamless. There are all kinds of cheesy photo-replacement apps out there, but none except the most expensive will do the job so your viewers can't tell. For example, the "Tron Legacy" film spent millions of dollars to replace Jeff Bridges' face with his original face from the original film.
4.) Edit the audio with own commentary
That's easy. Mute the existing audio track, record another, and drop it on the timeline.

For $50, a nice little full-featured consumer video editing app can be bought from Corel.
