Need help with wireless network

I have a desktop PC hardwired to a Linksys router and internet modem. I think at this point the router is acting as a hub. I have internet access with this arrangement on the desktop PC.

I want to establish a wireless home network so that I can use have access to the internet with my laptop PC and a Roku box.

The router was used before I obtained it.

The desktop is running Windows XP and the laptop is running Windows 7.

The laptop sees the router but I cannot come up with the correct password to make the connection.

I know how to access the setup program, but I cannot figure out how to set the network password.

The router model no. is WRT54G.

How do I set the network password?

Choose wireless, and then Wireless security after logging in to 192.168.1.1.
