Anyone have experience moving a web site to GoDaddy.com?
My wife and I are exploring the option of moving a web site we manage (ThisCaringHome.org - devoted to caregivers of persons with Alzheimer's) to a different hosting service. It is currently hosted on a dedicated individual server at Lunar Pages, but it would be much less expensive to move it to a shared server at GoDaddy.com ($2,200 compared to $120 per year). Any advice would be appreciated.

This kind of stuff happens all the time. There will be testing required but godaddy should know everything that needs to be done.

We use godaddy for my wifes online store and our forums (not this forum, but others). The service is decent and the price is cheap.
I would suggest leaving your current site up until you have the new site setup and tested. Once it's tested, use a redirect page on your current server to point to the new location. The DNS server change can take a few hours to 24 hours. This will redirect visitors from the current location to the new location until the DNS server changes have taken place.

Have a look at Inmotion Hosting: Web Hosting, VPS Hosting, Dedicated Hosting | InMotion Hosting
I've had several sites with them for years. They are inexpensive, reliable, and their customer service is second to none. Highly recommended.

Some of the smaller hosting companies will move your site for you (to be honest, I'm not sure if GoDaddy will or not).
I see that most/all of your pages are ASP. Is there a database back-end? If so, it may take a bit more work to get it all interconnected and depending on your experience level, you may need some help with it.
