question on "main identity"

I have an old Compaq pc, running Windows XP.

Going into "My Documents", I have one file filed with .dbx files, called "My Idenity", dated in 2011.

Hot it got there, I don't know. Can I delete it from "My Documents" without any problem?

.dbx files are usually part of outlook or outlook express. However, somewhere along the line, outlook switched to .pst files. What email client do you use?

Outlook Express 6.0.

I think these were backup files I made of OE.

I'd like to get rid of them, because they are big files for copying "My Documents" to usb external hard drive.

.dbx files don't belong in my documents. You can delete it as long as they are also in the correct directory/folder. I don't remember where they reside but it might be in appdata. Run a search for *.dbx on the C drive, to verify where they are.

Yes. I've got more up-to-date ones in "My Identity" where they should be. I'll delete these old ones in "My Documents".

Thanks for the good words.
