Excel spreadsheet woes
If I make a spreadsheet in Excel on my Windows 7 Pro machine, then print it, about 10% of the working cells don't print. If I e-mail the file to myself, and print it (from an XP machine) everything is fine.
How do I fix this?

Go to page break preview from the drop down menu and see where the page margins are. You can adjust the margins by dragging them to a bigger area. Most likely, the print range needs adjustment.

Printing
Are the non-printing cells along the the right side or the bottom?

Besides checking your print area and margins...
When you press print, it should take you to an excel print options page. One of the settings, the bottom one, on my computer, (just below margins) is the default setting, "no scaling". But the drop down menu also includes "fit to page" if you so choose.

'Sorry about leaving out that detail...
It's a random "10%". Not a left row, right row, whatever.
I could have a column or row with cell, cell, blank, cell, blank, cell, cell, etc...anywhere on the page.

Sometimes the column width is too small/tight to print the contents of the cells and you end up with a blank. Are you using two different printers, one for the Win 7 machine and a different one for the XP machine? In XP you are also probably opening the spreadsheet in an older version of excel. That may account for some of the discrepancies. I have an XP laptop and I have a converter so that I can open newer versions of excel in my older program.

How is the printer connected to each machine? Is it connected to the XP box by USB cable & then shared to the Win 7 box over the LAN or is it connected wirelessly, to one of the computers? Look at the spool settings too. Match the printer settings on Win 7 to the settings on XP.

Excel 2002? Seriously? That program would be seven years younger than the OS where it's failing (Win 7 was 2009). I think it's time to upgrade your software (both OSs and Office) to something more current and supported.

Printer settings look identical. (Basically; "auto")
Stickshift, I'm not disagreeing with you. But HQ is too cheap to invest in an upgrade.

"Basically" doesn't count. You have to look more closely than that. The spool settings don't have an auto option.
Create a spreadsheet on XP & print it from Win 7.

I'm just an average computer user. Tell me what detailed information you're looking for, and where do I find it?
and XP to Win7 worked perfectly.

On Win 7, click start, devices & printers, right click on the printer & left click on printer properties & the advanced tab. Are the same things checked? If they are, you can change the settings to see if that helps.

It could also be Font related - Fonts on XP may be slightly different, especially if the original document selected was not standard or available on the second machine. Excel will substitute.

Pulpo, the settings are exactly the same. Just for giggles, I'll change them to print directly instead of buffer and see what happens.
Tribe Fan, both machines are set for the same font. Just for giggles, I'll change them.
(Yes, I'll be giggling a lot)
11:45 We have a winner! The Windows 7 machine has "font issues". I changed it three times, and it printed perfectly for 2 of the 4 fonts. Who would have thunk it? (XP was fine throughout.)
Thanks

Can you tell us what Font was original to the spreadsheet created in XP , and what you chose to make it work on Win 7?

Sure.
Originally Tahoma.
'Switched to Lucida Console. No good.
I found that Times New Roman and Microsoft Sans Serif worked. Then I yelled "eureka" and quit experimenting.
