Need help locating replacement ribbon cable !!
I have a 7 inch- 17 wire flat ribbon cable with crimpflex connectors on either side , a mouse chewed though it , and now it's useless. Cable goes to a control board in a Kenmore oven. Model (790.41012801). I've called appliance repair , Kenmore, Fridgidaire, and computer repair shops, and no one knows where I can find a replacement . The part number is a dead end . Any suggestions would be much appreciated . Once I figure out how to post pics I will do so. Thanks

Hi Kl –
I never messed with flat ribbon cables (or if I did it was decades ago when I was working and I've forgotten, lol ) but if I’m not mistaken those connectors should come off. Maybe you can just buy some flat ribbon cable, cut the cable to length, and crimp those connectors back on. I didn’t think those cables came with an odd number of conductors, but I could be wrong.
Does that cable actually have 18 conductors and only 16 are being used?

That is 17 conductor cable with 17 pin plugs. Any size cable is available on a special production order.
Did you try a search with this number 318224867 ?
Several places I tried didn't show it as unavailable.
I have fixed breaks in those FF cables. Using a sharp knife you need to get down to the copper strip. You can solder a bridge across the break. You need someone GOOD with a soldering iron or the cable will melt and fall apart.
Unfortunately there are many variations of FFC. In the links below are companies that can supply the cable. The cable can be sent preprepped for the connector but you need to know the cable end treatment.
Mouser is a good company to deal with. The link below is for their Elco product line. Elco is the big player in FFC technology. See if you can locate your connectors based on visual.
AVX/ELCO FFC/FPC Connectors FFC / FPC | Mouser
Flat Flex, Ribbon Jumper Cables | Cable Assemblies | DigiKey
Premo-Flexâ„¢ FFC and Etched Polyimide Jumpers - Molex
Flat Flexible Zero Insertion Force Jumpers and Connectors | Samtec

Thanks for the replys . I googled that part #318224867 but couldn't find a pic to verify, also what measurements I saw didn't look right. However , through lots of Google time today I think I've found it. The cable was produced by a company called Nicomatic, then used by a company called TouchSensor to make the touch module .After emailing Nicomatic US this morning , they've already agreed to send me the replacement next week. Great customer service right there! Thanks, hope this thread helps someone else someday....
