Upgraded to Windows 10 - now cannot use Excel

Upgraded to Windows 10 (from 7) and am now being asked for an Activation Key for the MS office products. I've had this PC for some time - do not have any of the activation codes. Is there a way to re-activate MS office so I can use Excel, Word etc.?

Thanks - Adam.

AFAIK, that shouldn't have happened. What version of Office?

You have a couple of choices. If in fact you own Office 2013 you could try to find an activation key via "pirated" route. But you can also call MS and explain what happened. They are usually very good at helping out this type of thing.

Lost Office 2013 Activation after Upgrading Windows 10 from build - Microsoft Community

You aren't the first to have that problem. There are two of many google search results.

I agree with Norm. Give Microsoft a call. I've run into similar licensing issues and they have always been helpful.

It's probably obvious, but did you look on the back/side/bottom of your computer for a license key sticker? Many manufacturers go that route so there's nothing to lose.

I thought it might have been because you were running something old, like 1997. Given that you're close to current, I would advise calling Microsoft as well.

Just an update - had an on-line chat with MS service tech - gave them some info and they emailed me back the product key - problem solved.

Thanks to all that replied - Adam.
