Cat 5 in house

I have cat 5 cables in our home....what I want to do is move our wireless from one room to another but then connect the cat 5 from the modem to the wall outlet. In the basement the cat t runs are all located. How do you join the two cat 5 wires (one to bedroom the second to the living room). Is there a special connector for this?

Cut off the RJ45 jack (if there is one) and install a CAT5 keystone/wall jack.

Definitely the easiest and quickest way to do it. Don't even have to worry about ordering them from someplace like Amazon or Monoprice, there are many places locally by them such as Best Buy and even Walmart and Target have them in their electronics departments. As a matter fact I've even seen them in the Walmart grocery stores.
