Lenovo a Goner?

5 yr old Lenovo is frozen with 4 sites open. I can't close any of the sites nor refresh. They all just sit there, where they were 24 hrs ago. I have powered it off, but on restart it comes right back to where it was. It dings when I try to close or refresh. I know zip about computers even tho my career was with IBM a long time ago.

Did you hold the power button at least 5 to 10 seconds? It takes that long for a cold reboot.

Unplug the computer, push the power button with the computer unplugged. Plug the computer back in and try restarting.

Are you sure that you are completely shutting it down when you said that you powered it off? Secondly, did you try Ctrl Alt Del to start the Task Manager & End Processes? You can even end Windows Explorer, if needed.

Thanks

Disconnected power (not sure why because it runs on battery), held power button 15 seconds, let it sit for an hour and now it seems ok. Guess I wasn't holding the power button long enough on previous shut downs.

You still didn't answer the question of trying to end processes with task manager.
