Notice from Yahoo to cancel my account

I just received an email, ostensibly from Yahoo security, stating they have received my request to cancel. The emailer is [email protected]. I have not clicked on the link to cancel the request yet. I do not want to cancel.

DO NOT click on any link even if it says it's from Yahoo.
Initiate your own contact with Yahoo. Tell them you got a cancellation notice but don't want to cancel.

Thanks as always

Yahoo responded that the email did not come from them. This forum helps old people.

Its a fishing scam, don't click or go there. I hope you have antivirus installed. 99.9% of emails lke this are scams. In 20 years I've never encountered a legitimate email that pertains to account status, etc... I despise these creeps

If it was for real and from Yahoo, certainly no loss.

I just forward such items to:

[email protected] . . . . without any alteration.

Most companies have an "abuse" mailbox to receive and research garbage solicitations from scammers attempting to impersonate the legitimate enterprise.
