display problems

I just got done hooking up my computer and I only have 16 bit and black and white color choices i should have 256 and 32 bit also. I had them before when i bought it but then i reformated and reinstalled windows and now i don't know how to get them back please help if you can!!

This usually occurs when the wrong video display adaptor (video card) driver is installed. Hooefully you know the card name , and go to the manufacturer site on the web and download the latest drivers for that card.

You should whenever possible write dow the names of the video card/cd rom/sound card/modem/ before you format the drive, and have the driver for the modem card in advance just in case you need other drivers and must get on the internet to get them
