Windows 10 one note, OCR, MS Office home and student 2019

I have watched tutorials but cannot seem to be able to use OCR.

If I scan a document shouldn't I be able to use OCR with it?

I have used free OCR but it takes a lot of time to format..

For windows-10 I've heard that saving to MS one note, and saving to Google Drive will both allow you to perform free OCR.

Personally, I've prefer the old Windows XP classic "MODI"
which is MicrosOft Document Imaging for .tiff files.
This is the current version of the old MS scan/fax application dating back to XP.

You have to go find "MODI", download it, and then install it as part of MS Office.
Once it is installed, you'll have a "print to fax" option.
Select the document you want to OCR, hit PRINT, select FAX, and then you'll get a window options and a file. Double click the file and you'll open a 200 DPI version of your document as a .tiff file. Click on "recognize text" and the MS OCR runs, giving you an image of the document, AND the OCR's pages.

Also, the MODI program lets you open tiff files and re-arrange them ( very handy when scanning 20 pages and you're missing page #10- you just re-scan that page and drop it into the left-panel preview page between pages #9 and #11, then save.

Ocr

I have used Google but it really does a poor job. MS removed OCR for NOeNote in Office 2019 but has it in 2016.
I did find whee it says to download MODI but it applies to 2010.
Please let me know if I am wrong so I can get this done.

Ah, I never tried to use MODI on Office 2019.
I only recently updated to Office 2010, so unfortunately there's not much more I can do.

Ocr

PC = Epson scan>enable engine(look around)>all pages>edit. Word>file>open>browse=ocr

Above are the steps to get editable text with Word from a scan with Epson. I have WF 2760.
If these are not enough post back and i will be more precise. Hope this helps.
