Server I/O Error

I have a Dell T110 II server with three drives in a raid. The purpose of the raid was in case a drive went down it would be a simple matter of replacing the drive, rebuilding it and off we go. One of my software packages can't run because it says some of the files are experiencing I/O read errors.

Can anyone help me understand what is going on?

Raid runs with variations. If it was mirrored you should not lose data. With striping you would. You can also run a combo of both.

Thanks for your reply. I ran chkdsk for several hours and it is all up and running again. Thank God.

Make sure you understand the differences between RAID 1, 3, 5 and others.
Also, regardless of your drive configuration, make sure you have a good backup strategy. RAID is definitely not a replacement for good backups. I don't want to tell you how many servers I've seen die and lose or almost lose data even with RAID running....

Chromebook or Laptop for remote learning school year?

[color=#141414]I am going to need at least one (maybe two) more computers for my kids to do online school this year. One is in 5th grade so I would at least like to get one for her and the other is in first grade so she could use one of my other ones but I may end up getting two. I am trying to decide if I should get another laptop (not too expensive, in the $500-600 range) or if I should just get a Chromebook (or maybe even 2). Everything is web based as far as I know and I do have an Office subscription for the family so I think that would work with either the web office or even the app. If I just got a $300 Chromebook, is that going to be good? With something that inexpensive, I wouldn't have to worry about her keeping it in her room all the time or anything. What do you guys think? I have no experience with Chromebooks.[/color]

I really love OneNote. Is there a OneNote app by itself? Or does anyone know of a PIM that has the functions like OneNote has? I saw a few on the web but most of the nice ones cost. Maybe I will have to pay. Thanks for any help you all can give me.
