We have a DSL line and Caller ID thru our local telcom. We recently installed a caller id device. Now our Sony SPP400 portable phone/answering machine buzzes like a hive of hornets through the earpiece. I installed a microfilter between the device and the telephone, but no help. Suggestions?

Try installing the filter between the wall jack and the caller ID device instead of between the caller id unit and the telephone. No answering machine /phone /caller id device should be on a portion of the line that does not first pass thru the filter.

Let us know what you find out.

Call your DSL provider I think there is a special caller ID that goes on DSL. Heard someone talking about this not too long ago but I wasn't party to the conversation.
